Herminia Elizondo
Founding partner, McAllen office
Herminia started the firm to give Valley families a lawyer they could trust with the papers that decide where they live.
She grew up in Edinburg, the daughter of a farmworker who waited eleven years for his own green card. After law school she worked at a nonprofit legal clinic, then opened the McAllen office on North 10th Street. She still takes every new family petition consultation herself, and reads every affidavit of support before it's signed.

How Herminia works with a family
The first meeting is long on purpose. Herminia asks about every entry, every trip and every relative before she says what she thinks, because a family case can turn on a detail from twenty years ago.
Then she writes it down: what she'd file, in what order, what it costs and what could go wrong. You leave with that page, in Spanish or English.
