How it works

Five steps from first call to decision

Most cases follow the same five steps, whichever office you start at.

  1. 01

    Step 1: A first consultation

An hour with a lawyer, in person or by video. We ask about your whole history and tell you honestly what we see.

  2. 02

Step 2: A written plan and price

What we'd file, in what order, how long it usually takes and what it costs. Nothing starts until you sign.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Gathering the papers

We give you a checklist, in Spanish or English, and help you get the records you don't have.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Filing and waiting

We file, give you a copy of everything, and send you each government notice the day it arrives.

  5. 05

Step 5: The interview or hearing

We prepare you ahead of time and, for interviews and court, a lawyer goes with you.

What you'll pay, and to whom

  • Our fee

Each case has one price for our work, written into your plan before you sign. Court cases are priced by stage, so you know each cost before it comes.

  • Government fees

USCIS and the court charge their own filing fees. We list them in your plan, and they're paid by your own check or money order, never mixed with ours.

  • Payment plans

For most cases, our fee can be paid in monthly installments. We set the schedule with you before anything is filed.
